10/21/2006 Thoughtful TuneChina’s national symphony, the China National Symphony Orchestra (CNSO), is one of the most outstanding professional symphony orchestra in China. Originally founded as the Central Philharmonic Orchestra of China in 1956, the orchestra was restructured and renamed in 1996. It’s the China Symphony Orchestra 2006-07 Season. The theme of it was “Russian Passion”. We attended the concert yesterday. It’s a wonderful experience!
Compared with the last symphony concert which I took part in at 西钓鱼台 performed by Beijing Philharmonic, it is more professional this time. Last one is outdoor, while this one is indoor.
I noticed that the layout of musical instruments obeys some rules:
Firstly, the conductor stands just in the front of the whole orchestra, facing every performer. The one sitting on his left hand is the NO.1 violin. This person is the representative of all musicians. The conductor would shake hands with him to sent appreciation when each chapter is end. Sometimes the person would provide the audience a solo, or play as the leading actor with the other’s accompaniment. Of course, this one must be the best outstanding performer.
Secondly, generally speaking, the lower the sound is, the more distance the instrument is arranged from the front stage. For example, the stringed instruments are arranged at the front part of the stage, while arrayed at the hinder part are the wind instruments. Flute, clarinet, oboe are generally set behind the violin section, and trumpet, trombone, tuba are behind them. At the bottom of the stage, drum is set. In the stringed section, the rule is also right. Violin, viola, cello are ranking one after another.
The program is consisted of three chapters. The first chapter is overture: Ruslan and Ludmilla, which is composed by Glinka. I don’t know who he is, even never heard of his opus before, but that is fair-sounding tune indeed. The secondly chapter is Clarinet Concerto in A major, which is composed by Mozart, and performed by an Austria Vienna musician, Wenzel Fuchs. I like the sound from clarinet very much. I can feel my nerves are dancing accompanied with the rhythm. The third chapter is Symphony NO.4 in F minor, Tchaikovsky’s NO.36 op. I enjoy this part most. The suavity from the violin and the strength from the trumpet go together. Sometimes pizzicato appears, with the atmosphere of oppression, just like some extremely huge force would break out later. As expected, the following is strong in violent and lovely contrast with foregoing. The conductor is quite exciting with full enthusiasm. We were all moved by his performance and involved ourselves in the music. The concert end with applause and it last for a long time.
5/7/2006 MY VOCATIONToday is the last day of the golden vocation. In this period, I spent two days browsing the anniversary reports of LENOVO Corporation, one day discussing with my partners and finishing our case, two days going out with my friends, two days finishing my personal resume. The rest of it I did something relaxing such as watching film, sleeping, and surfing on the internet, some like these. I didn't read the Commercial Bank Financial Management in the Financial Industry as I have planed to do, I feel a little regretted, but I never minded, I did something else significant! The most meaningful day is the day before yesterday. On that day, I went to Capital Museum with my friend Mo, who is also interested in ancient civilization. There displayed so many treasures which was from the other coaster of the Pacific Ocean. We have seen mummy coffin coming from Ancient Egypt dating back to several centuries BC, some famous stone carvings coming from Ancient Greece and Rome, and so on. We almost spent the whole day staying in the museum. Such wonderful experiences! We would have received more if we did some preparation before we went there. Today, I would have gone to library to do some required studying, but a book called Western History on the shelf attracted me. So, instead of reading the Advanced Financial Accounting, I made friends with this unexpected book. Now I am sitting in front of my computer to take records of my feelings and thinking in English. Maybe it’s not quite concise or accurate enough somewhere, but I think I have done my best! I will make my article more beautiful in the forward! |
